Stand
up straight and grab the barbell with your palms facing you and with a
less than shoulder width grip. Your arms should be extended with a
slight bend in the elbows and the barbell should be on the top of your
thighs. Now, keeping the bar close to your body, lift it up until it
nearly touches your chin. Your elbows should go up and to the side.
Exhale as you do this part of the repetition. Now, as you inhale, slowly
lower the bar to the starting position. You can also do this exercise
by attaching a bar to a low pulley.
