Place a bigger weight plate under the bar on the Smith machine and step on it with the balls of your feet. The bar should be on the back of your shoulders. Now, as you exhale, push off of the balls of your feet, raising your heels as high as possible and flexing your calves. Hold for a second and then, as you breathe in, slowly return to the starting position.
